Fern Price, 1917-2003, Windsor

Fern Price, 86, of Windsor, formerly of Calhoun, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2003, at Fern's Care Center, in Windsor.

She was born June 28, 1917, in Bates County near Worland, a daughter of Lon and Lura Franklin Baldwin. In September of 1935, she was married to Maynard W. "Slick" Price, who died April 9, 1998.

Mrs. Price was a homemaker and enjoyed her family and friends.

Survivors include two sons, Lonnie J. Price, of Calhoun, and William M. "Bill" Price, of Windsor; a daughter, Huberta Groneman, of Kansas City; a brother, Vernie Baldwin, of Coffeyville, Kan.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; two nephews and a niece.

She was predeceased by two grandsons, David Peel and Bryan Price, a great-grandson, Ryan Price, and a sister, Lois Jean Smith.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Hadley Funeral Home in Windsor, with the Rev. Gail Danley officiating. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family suggests contributions to the Windsor Senior Center.
